Agadir To Erg Chegaga Desert 3 days
Day 1: From Agadir To Ouarzazate
We will pick you up from your hotel in Agadir and drive to the south of Morocco. Today, You will visit Taroudant, known as "the little Marrakech", with its surrounding ramparts. In addition, the Saadi dynasty briefly used Taroudant as a capital in the sixteenth century before moving its royal seat to Marrakesh.
We continue to Taliouine, the land of Saffron, and it's one of the leading exporters of this spice worldwide. We drive to Taznakht, where we take the side road to Ouarzazate. You will visit Ait Ben Haddou's site, the most famous Kasbah in Morocco, and it's the backdrop of many Hollywood blockbusters before we reach Ouarzazate—dinner and night in the hotel / Guesthouse.
Day 2: From Ouarzazate To Erg Chegaga
After a good breakfast, we drive to the Erg Chegaga desert. It will be another beautiful journey to discover more about the south of Morocco. We cross the Anti Atlas Mountain and then arrive at Agdez Oasis and the Draa River, the longest river in Morocco, at 1100km.
Take the ancient caravan road to explore the old fortified villages and the Draa Oasis. We will pass by Zagora and Tamgroute; then, we will arrive at Mhamid, the last town before the desert, where you will have lunch at one of the local houses. In the afternoon, Our tour continues to Erg Chegaga Dunes, crossing the Hammada "stony desert", the Reg "Hard flat", and Erg "dunes". Arrive at Chegaga for the camel tour and night in a charming desert camp under the stars.
Day 3: From Erg Chegaga dunes to Agadir
Today, if you wake up early enough, you can enjoy the spectacular sunrise from the top of the dunes of Erg Chegaga. After breakfast, Our desert tour continues by crossing the Sahara desert to Lake Iriqui. It's one of the largest dry lakes in the area, 20km. In Elmadoir, we will stop searching for fossils.
After we arrive at Foum Zguid village to join the paved road, we drive to Taznakht, the Berber town and the capital of Berber carpets, where we will have lunch. - Footwear: Choose shoes or sandals. Walking shoes are unnecessary in the desert; lighter footwear is preferable. If selecting sandals, pack socks as nighttime temperatures drop.
- Clothing: Light attire for the day and warmer garments for the evening, including rain protection. In March, temperatures range from 10°C at night to 26°C during the day.
- Sun protection: Suncream and sunglasses.
- First aid: Include adhesive plasters, dressings, sterile compresses, disinfectant, paracetamol or aspirin tablets/sachets, antidiarrheal medication, eye drops, and blister dressings.
