2 Day Erg Chigaga Desert Excursion by 4x4 - Itinerary:
day 1: Mhamid to Erg Chigaga Dunes by 4x4
Begin your 4x4 adventure towards the majestic Erg Chigaga dunes. The drive will take you through the vast desert landscape, crossing dry riverbeds, rocky plateaus, and lush oases.
You will arrive at one of Morocco's largest and most stunning sand dunes, known for its towering heights and remote beauty. The dunes here are less crowded, offering a serene experience in the heart of the Sahara.
After lunch, you can relax, explore the surrounding dunes, or enjoy the tranquillity of the Sahara Desert.
After a relaxing moment, embark on a traditional camel ride. The camels will carry you through the vast dunes, providing a truly authentic desert experience as you watch the desert change colours with the light of the day.
Dinner will be served under the stars, including a delicious traditional Moroccan meal.
After dinner, join your local guides and fellow travellers around a crackling campfire. Enjoy traditional Berber music and drumming, adding a cultural touch to your desert adventure.

Day 2: Erg Chigaga to Mhamid
Wake up early to watch the magical desert sunrise, where the first light of day dances over the golden dunes, creating breathtaking views.
After breakfast, depart the desert camp and begin your journey back to Mhamid by 4x4. The drive back will take you through more stunning desert landscapes, offering a chance to appreciate the vastness and beauty of the Sahara.
You will return to Mhamid in the late morning, where your desert adventure ends.

- Footwear: Choose shoes or sandals. Walking shoes are unnecessary in the desert; lighter footwear is preferable. If selecting sandals, pack socks as nighttime temperatures drop.
- Clothing: Light attire for the day and warmer garments for the evening, including rain protection. In March, temperatures range from 10°C at night to 26°C during the day.
- Sun protection: Suncream and sunglasses.
- First aid: Include adhesive plasters, dressings, sterile compresses, disinfectant, paracetamol or aspirin tablets/sachets, antidiarrheal medication, eye drops, and blister dressings.
