Desert Tour from marrakech 8 days - Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Transfer from the airport to your riad.
Day 2: Marrakech to Ouarzazate
Depart from your riad at 08:00 and begin the journey through the High Atlas Mountains. After crossing the Tizi'N'Tichka pass at an elevation of 2260 meters, we divert to Telouet Kasbah, historically linked to the Glaoui family, for a guided exploration of this remarkable site. Continue past a salt mine and through the Ounila Valley, which is historically significant for trans-Saharan caravans. Arrive for lunch at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Post-lunch, explore the ancient Kasbah before heading to Ouarzazate for an overnight hotel or guest house stay.
Day 3: Ouarzazate to Mhamid
The expedition proceeds to Mhamid, traversing the Anti-Atlas and Tizi-n-Tinfifte pass (1660 meters). Arrive at Agdez, where Morocco's largest oasis begins, extending 200 km to Mhamid. Travel the ancient caravan route lined with idyllic yet partially ruined fortified villages. Visit the Oulad Othman Kasbah, then continue to Zagora for lunch and visit Tamgrout's old library. Arrive at Mhamid by late afternoon for an overnight stay at a desert camp in Rass Nkhal, enjoying the serene atmosphere and sunset from the dunes.
Day 4: Mhamid to Erg Chegaga
Following breakfast in the tranquil locale, embark on a camel ride led by experienced guides, lasting about an hour. The journey proceeds by 4x4 through varying Saharan landscapes to Erg Chagaga, Morocco's tallest dunes, standing at 300 meters and stretching 40 km. Relish the silence and sunset with lunch and dinner provided at a charming desert camp. Enjoy an evening of music and a choice between a comfortable tent or sleeping under the stars.
Day 5: Erg Chegaga to Fint Oasis
Wake early to witness the stunning sunrise from Erg Chegaga's dunes. After breakfast, travel from Erg Chegaga to Fint Oasis, passing by the now-dry Lake Iriqui and the volcanic rock formations of Lmadwar, where fossils may be found. Reach Foum Zguid for lunch, then continue on a paved road to Taznakht, renowned for its Berber rugs, arriving at Fint Oasis by day's end for an overnight stay at a guest house.
Day 6: Fint Oasis to Marrakech
After breakfast, explore Fint Oasis on foot, then visit Ouarzazate's Atlas Cinema Studio. The return journey to Marrakech includes passing through Aguim, Taddert, and the Tizi'n'Tichka pass. Arrive in Marrakech by afternoon for an overnight stay in a Riad.
Day 7: Discover Marrakech Medina
Start with breakfast, followed by a guided tour of Marrakech's Medina and marketplace, visiting landmarks such as El Koutoubia, Bahia Palace, Badiaa Palace, and Saadian Tombs, as well as the Majorelle Gardens. Lunch at a local restaurant, with an optional relaxing SPA/Hammam experience planned for the afternoon. The remainder of the day is free for personal exploration.
Day 8: Departure from Marrakech
Transfer from your riad to the airport is arranged approximately two hours before your scheduled flight.

- Footwear: Choose shoes or sandals. Walking shoes are unnecessary in the desert; lighter footwear is preferable. If selecting sandals, pack socks as nighttime temperatures drop.
- Clothing: Light attire for the day and warmer garments for the evening, including rain protection. In March, temperatures range from 10°C at night to 26°C during the day.
- Sun protection: Suncream and sunglasses.
- First aid: Include adhesive plasters, dressings, sterile compresses, disinfectant, paracetamol or aspirin tablets/sachets, antidiarrheal medication, eye drops, and blister dressings.
