Program 4 days

Day 1: From Agadir to Ouarzazate

Morning departure from Agadir to the Sahara desert of Morocco by 4x4 around 8:30 a.m. Pass by Taroudant, known as" the little Marrakech" because of its beautiful Medina and massive ramparts. Taliouine town is the land of saffron in Morocco(the golden plant), where there is a fascinating, deliciously saffron-scented museum about growing the plant.

We continue to Taznakht for lunch. It is a small Berber town famous for its Berber glims and carpets. From here, the roads take us to Ait ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

It is one of the famous Kasbahs in Morocco. After lunch in this beautiful village, our guide will take you to discover this old Kasbah. We drive a short distance to Ouarzazate, where you have Dinner and a night in a hotel or guest house.

Day 2: From Ouarzazate to Mhamid

Depart from Ouarzazate to Mhamid by 4x4 at 9:00 am. Cross the Anti Atlas Mountain, Tiz-n-Tinfift (1700m) Pass to Agdez, where the longest river in Morocco starts (Draa River 1100 kilometres). We take the ancient caravan route from here, which passes by many old villages and gardens. A short tea break and visit the old Kasbah of Oulad Othman. The trip to the desert continues to Zagora at lunchtime.

We drive to Tamgroute in the afternoon to visit the Koranic library and the old pottery factory. We arrive at Mhamid, the gate to the Sahara desert. We take a camel tour from Mhamid to the desert camp. We have Dinner and a night in the camp.

Day 3: From Mhamid to Erg Chegaga

If you wake up early enough, you can enjoy the spectacular sunrise from the top of the dunes of Ras Nakhal. After breakfast, we drive from Mhamid to Erg Chegaga around 10:00 am. The roads take us 62 km off-road to Erg Chegaga. You will pass by El Bour, the old land that nomads used to cultivate wheat and barley, but not any longer because the draught and sand cover most of the flat. But it is still a good spot for nomadic families and their animals. The desert tour continues to cross Hammada, the rocky desert, and then we reach Ouad L'aatach, stopping in a panoramic view and close to a nomadic well.

We arrive at Erg Chegaga camp in the afternoon. Here you will have lunch and spend the night in the Berber tent. After lunch and a good rest, we offer the camel tour to the middle of the Chegaga Dunes to enjoy the stunning sunset from the top of the dunes. After the sunset, we will take you back on the camel to the camp. After dinner, traditional nomadic music and dance will be played around the campfire under the stars.

Day 3: From Erg Chegaga to Agadir

If you wake early enough to be a part of a unique moment to watch the sunrise, you will be rewarded by the great play of shadows across the sand. After a delicious breakfast, the desert trip continues From Erg Chegaga camp to Agadir.

The off-road is 100 km of driving in the Sahara desert with varying scenery, and one of these is Lake Iriqui. It is a vast dry lake nowadays, where you likely experience the expansive mirage in the heat.

We continue the trip to the Lmadwar mountain, famous for its volcanic rocks. It is also a great spot to discover more about the desert, and if lucky, you can find fossils. We reach the nomadic town of Foum Zguid. From here, we take the paved road to Taznakht for lunchtime; it is the famous town of its Berber rugs and carpets. We arrive in Agadir by the end of the day.
